This is probably my favourite shot as it combines my love of storm photography and astrophotography. It was a fantastic thundercloud that put on an amazing show. Most of the lightning was within the cloud lighting it up like a light bulb however occationally a bolt made its way out. It was a 25sec image to reduce the stars from moving too much. On the top right hand corner is the Large Magellanic Cloud. I was set up on the access road below the Australian Age of Dinosaurs facing East towards Longreach.
